New Trailer: The Philosophers (2013)

Today I got a news that Cinta Laura Kiehl, an Indonesian actress who has a distinct (and kinda funny) American accent when she talks (which my high school friends highlight and address glares at me out of my so-said-identical silly accent, in which I oppose), has been cast in two Hollywood titles; Resident Evil 6 and The Philosophers. Since I'm not much interested in the earlier franchise, I decide to seek some deets about the latter one. Can't bet my full hands on this film (I don't really know the masterminds behind it and I haven't heard much about it), but the trailer isn't bad, hey.

Written and directed by John Huddles is a new sci-fi adventure of multi-nativities Jakarta international school students (Bonnie Wright, Freddie Stroma *dang!*, Daryl Sabara, etc) dragged by their mysterious philosophy teacher (James D'Arcy!) into thrilling adventures around the secret bunker of Indonesia's famed heritage landmarks.

I sense a little bit of Hunger Games plus 2012 as IMDB wrote that only ten out of twenty students are gonna be given the chance to reboot humanity in an event of nuclear apocalypse :|. For more info check here, here, here, or here. There also have been some tumblr accounts dedicated for this movie.

And oh, YES, it was filmed in Indonesia, so whatever the movie turns out to be I bet we'll still be enthused by the guaranteed eye-pleasing sets. Plus, from the trailer, I think it's gonna exploit the country's rich vistas, much to our enjoyments. Filming locations include Jakarta, Prambanan, Semeru-Bromo-Tengger complex, and Belitung. You travelgoer must watch.

Lastly, great job, Kiehl! You got me miser about my flat, boring life :|
